Programme 2026

Meetings are 7pm for 7.30pm and are open to everyone, entry £5 for non-members (£2.50 for members of Islington Gardeners). Meetings are usually held in the cafe at St. Peter’s Crypt, Northchurch Terrace, London N1 4DA.

Head gardener, Tim Hewitt, has transformed the churchyard at St Mary’s Walthamstow into a beautiful wildlife garden. He talks about what he has learned by getting it wrong! Tim runs workshops for the general public and can be found on instagram @timhewittgardener.

Justin Bogdanski leads this propagation masterclass on how to grow plants cheaply or for free.

Its our AGM where we look back on the year and elect our committee. This year Avril will be giving a presentation on moving to Whitstable and learning how to garden for wildlife by the coast.

David Bracher, garden designer, talks about getting the most out of small spaces and suggests planting schemes that work best in courtyards.


Meeting: 5th May 2026

Our favourite urban tree expert and author of The Street Tree, Paul Wood gives us a presentation on his latest book Tree Hunting.

Our SPRING plant sale takes place opposite St. Peter’s church, outside 21 Northchurch Terrace. Buy plants grown locally by our members alongside a curated selection of nursery specimens. Come for houseplants, vegetables, perennials and grasses as well as plant and growing advice.

Caroline Broome takes a look at some of England’s finest gardens to see how their grand designs can be adapted to suit your own gardens. From Dry Shade to Exposed, Sunny Sites, there’s a planting scheme to suit all aspects of your garden.

Charlotte Hugh shared the transformation of her new build garden into a little bit of paradise on social media. This has resulted in 125K followers and the design of a garden border for the Gardeners World Fair. Her website, Charlotte’s Garden tells her story and we are delighted she is coming to share it with us
