Meeting: January 7th

Nemone Mercer from Core Landscapes will give a presentation on growing your own food sustainably.


Meeting: February 4th

Mona Abboud will talk about her award-winning garden which is situated between Highgate and Muswell Hill. It is home to the national collection of Corokia as well as many unusual and exotic Australasian, Mediterranean and South African plants. She has recently published a book Branching Out which tells the story of how she has extended and developed her wonderful garden.


Meeting: March 4th

Our Annual General Meeting will be followed by our very own version of Gardeners Question Time. There will be a panel but with so many wonderful gardeners amongst our members all questions are also open to the floor for answers and advice. This is always a fascinating evening.


Meeting: April 1st

Susannah Hall from Permablitz London will be returning to share her expertise with a masterclass on watering systems.


Meeting: May 6th

Cassandra Li, Hackney Council’s biodiversity officer will explain her role to us and help us understand exactly what biodiversity means for the urban gardener.



Meeting: June 3rd

A glorious summer evening spent exploring Lower Clapton Gardens which open for the National Garden Scheme. The full itinerary will be sent out before the meeting. Please note due to restricted numbers this is only for members. The general public can visit on the NGS open day.


Meeting: July 1st

East London based garden designer, Beth King presents some of her naturalistic garden projects.


Sunday 3rd August

As an RHS affiliated club we are taking advantage of free entry to RHS Wisley and so you will only have to pay for the coach. The coach will leave de Beauvoir around 8.30am and return about 6pm, times to be confirmed. Please reserve your seat by emailing us.

DBG member and wildlife gardener Nina is a founder member of ReNature London. She specialises in building sustainable, long term habitat restoration from the bottom up to enhance local wildlife. and this includes wildlife ponds.


Meeting: November 4th

Jocelyn Armitage, head gardener at St Joseph’s Hospice, shares her experience of creating a garden which is a source of pleasure and relaxation for patients, visitors and staff, a tranquil oasis in the heart of Hackney.
